Board and Governance Coordinator / Paralegal - 3 Month FTC

We provide residential and community care for older people, as well as support for children, families, people with disabilities, those financially disadvantaged, and individuals seeking asylum.
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Board and Governance Coordinator
to lead and support corporate governance framework. This pivotal role provides comprehensive operational and administrative support to the Company Secretariat function, ensuring the effective governance of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maturation of corporate governance framework, ensuring alignment with clinical governance and operational policies.
- Provide high-level administrative support for Board, Board Committees, and Affordable Housing (BAH) Board, including preparing meeting materials, managing calendars, and taking minutes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including filings with ACNC, ASIC, and other relevant authorities, and assist with governance-related reporting.
- Manage the recruitment, induction, and professional development of board members, as well as oversee their compliance with necessary checks.
- Organize and coordinate board-related events and functions, working closely with external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update board policies, procedures, and governance records to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Participate in workplace health and safety initiatives and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Extensive experience in governance, ideally within a not-for-profit or similar organisation.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- A high level of attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and compliance in all governance-related matters.
- Experience in facilitating board and committee meetings, preparing documentation, and ensuring governance practices are followed.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work autonomously and use discretion in handling sensitive information.
